Reshade on Sims 2
What you need:
Install reshade on the higher EP you have.
I have the Ultimate Collection so the path for me looks like this: C:/Program Files x86/Origin Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Fun with Pets/SP9/TSBin and then select Sims2EP9.exe.

Choose Direct3D 10+
Click Yes to download effects

Then choose wich effects you want (leave them all if you don't know wich effects you want, you can delete the ones you won't use later on the shaders folder)

Then just close reshade and open sims 2

You should now see reshade on your game screen like this :

Enter a neighborhood and open reshade by cliking Shift + F2 and just follow the tutorial.

OBS:
If you want to delete reshade from the game just go to the game directory where reshade was installed and just delete the reshade folder and 2 dxgi files (a third dxgi file will appear if you had run the game with reshade, and if you created a preset don't forget to delete that too)

- Reshade 3.0
- DirectX end-user runtime installed is required
- A computer with Windows Vista SP1 or higher (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

It's a desktop or laptop?
For me direct3D 8/9 doesn't work but might work for others.

I have Mansion and Garden plus every expansion and stuff pack before that.
I do not have ultimate collection. O:
It crashes on a clean install of the game too.

I didn't tested in a clean install so is hard for me to help in that situation, in a modified game with mods and everything it works.
Windows 7 is compatible with reshade I don't think thats the problem.

I don't know what the issue is either. I'll keep testing and report back if I've exhausted every option. Thank you so much for writing this tutorial.

If I find anything I'll let you know, but for now there's nothing more that I can do.
Edit: I just found a tutorial for sims 4 on how to install reshade that I think you should take a look: http://thesimsociety.tumblr.com/post/154017500205/more-i-noticed-that-many-people-have-issues
This person didn't close the reshade window before opening the game, with luck maybe that's the issue.

When I try to boot under DX10, nothing happens, by the way. 8/9 just crashes.

I know atleast one simmer that pm me about installing reshade, she had Cd's version with Mansion and Garden and it didn't show up for her either with DX10 until she reiniciate her computer then it worked, I just don't know what Windows she was using.
It just bugs me why doesn't work for everyone.

I'm stubborn so I ended up installing the game on my pc without desinstalling the UC(just moved everything to other place) and managed to install some EPs, game crashing with reshade no matter what and now have to reinstall my ultimate collection all over again. :D

I have a theory that it only works with UC.
Also I have a video on the flashing pink here.

There is one person with original game and all expansions that got it to work but I don't know wich windows she has, I'm gonna pm her to see if it's really working.
She also has UC on a laptop so better make sure I didn't get that wrong.
One thing that I had to do after reinstalling my game was to remove securom, reshade only worked after I did that. Don't know if you already remove it but it's another thing that might help.

That would be great if they help out, the more the better.
